McKinney Beats Fuchs By 2-1 Margin

Republican State Sen. John McKinney defeated his Democratic opponent, Mitchell Fuchs, in a not-so-close race for re-election in the 28th District, which includes Easton, Weston, Fairfield and Newtown.

McKinney, who will serve a seventh term in the state Senate, more than doubled the support received by Fuchs, earning 25,437 votes to Fuchs' 12,105, or 68 percent of the vote.

The Fairfield resident was elected Minority Leader of the Senate in 2007.
