Hartford resident Enrique Luciano, 32, has been sentenced to 30 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release after pleading guilty in Bridgeport federal court to one count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.
Luciano has been detained since his arrest. He pleaded guilty on Dec. 3 last year.
On June 4 last year, Luciano approached a car on Cabot Street in Hartford, pointing a gun at the two occupants of the vehicle, who were undercover Hartford Police detectives investigating drug activity.
After the detectives identified themselves as police, Luciano fled and threw the gun, a Taurus PT 908 handgun, away. Luciano was ultimately apprehended and the loaded gun, with a scratched off serial number, was recovered.
U.S. Attorney John Durham noted that Luciano has a previous federal conviction for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and, in May 2010, was sentenced to 60 months of imprisonment for that offense. He also has prior convictions in state court for drug offenses.
