Richard Lepkowski, of Westport, was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 19, by the Westport Police for an incident that took place in Oct. 2019, said Westport Police Lt. Anthony Prezioso.

According to police, on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019, officers responded to Lepkowski's home on a complaint of a verbal disturbance.

Although no arrests were made at the time, during the officers’ investigation it was learned that there was a woman living at the residence without the permission of the Westport Housing Authority.

The woman told officers that she had been living there with permission from Lepkowski and that she had been using the home to engage in prostitution in order to support a drug habit, police said.

Officers helped the woman be admitted to a drug rehabilitation facility.

A follow-up investigation found that Lepkowski allegedly had been managing the woman in prostitution for about a month while she had been living with him, police said.

Police found that Lepkowski had allegedly promoted her services through the use of a website which included prices and time limits.

In return, Lepkowsi was allegedly provided proceeds from the acts of prostitution.

Bond was set at $100,000 which Lepkowski was unable to post.
