FAIRFIELD, Conn. A Bridgeport man was charged with forgery Monday for passing fake bills at a Fairfield gas station and other locations, police say. Juan Feliciano, 24, was arrested at court for an incident that occurred in April.
The manager of the Mobil station on Black Rock Turnpike called police on April 19 to report that someone had used a fake $100 bill at the convenience store there. The manager named Feliciano, a former employee, as a suspect. Video surveillance showed that Feliciano used the bill to purchase a few items and make change, according to the police report.
Fairfield police and the U.S. Secret Service tracked the bills serial number to 37 suspicious purchases - most in Connecticut, especially the Wallingford area. They also found that Feliciano has a history with similar incidents, according to police reports. He was arrested while at court facing other charges and charged with first-degree forgery Monday. His bond was set at $1000, but he was arraigned later that day.
