A Connecticut man has admitted to handing out the Adderall that led to a fatal overdose.

Wallingford resident Timothy Estridge has pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute and distribution of, amphetamine in court in New Haven, for his role in the death of a 38-year-old man.

On Dec. 16 last year, the Wallingford Police Department and paramedics were dispatched to an area home after receiving an emergency 9-1-1 call reporting the death of a man. The caller who reported the death did not leave contact information and was not at the scene when first responders arrived.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators seized evidence of drug use, including a small plastic baggy containing eight oxycodone pills, a glass dish with white powder residue, a broken credit card, pieces of wax folds used as heroin packaging, a used plastic syringe, and prescription pill bottles.

One of the pill bottles recovered was an empty bottle, in Estridge’s name, for 30 10-milligram Adderall pills. The State of Connecticut Chief Medical Examiner determined the victim’s cause of death to be "intoxication of a combination of heroin, fentanyl, oxycodone, alprazolam, amphetamine, and ethanol."

The investigation into the overdose found that on Dec. 1 last year, Estridge filled a prescription for Adderall, which was distributed to the victim. Further investigation determined that Estridge distributed heroin and amphetamines on multiple occasions between July and December last year.

Estridge remains detained. He is scheduled to appear in Hartford District Court on Jan. 9 next year, when he will face up to 20 years in prison.
