It's Showtime For Planet Pluto As NASA Spacecraft Flies By

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft will fly closely by Pluto and Pluto’s moons July 14, nine years after its launch, according to NASA.

After launching on Jan. 19, 2006, New Horizons’ telescopic Long-Range Reconnaissance Imager (LORRI) has taken hundreds of images of Pluto as it approaches the planet, said NASA in a February 2015 update.
