Friday Afternoon Traffic Jammed Across Fairfield County

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Traffic jams clogged rush-hour traffic Friday afternoon on Interstate 95 and the Merritt Parkway in Fairfield County.

Traffic crawled in both directions of Interstate 95 on Friday in Darien.

An accident on I-95 North between Exits 17 and 18 in Westport played a significant part in the delays. The two-car accident occurred at 4:34 p.m. according to a state of Connecticut incident report. Travel was slow northbound and southbound on the interstate.

The Merritt Parkway was also crawling in both directions late Friday afternoon. Traffic also was moving slowly along Interstate 84 in Danbury in each direction.
