FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Former Connecticut Gov. John Rowland is seeking to have a corruption conviction overturned, according to CT Post.

Rowland's legal team alleges the government too broadly applied the federal law. 

The former governor was sentenced to two and a half years in prison in 2015 for hiding work he did on failed congressional campaigns in 2012 and 2010, CT Post reported.
