FAIRFIELD, Conn. A New York state man was accused of attempting to fill forged prescriptions in Fairfield on Tuesday. Donald McCann, 28, of Bedford Hills, N.Y. tried to illegally obtain two different painkillers, police say.
McCann submitted prescriptions for oxycodone and Naprosyn, both painkillers. The pharmacist told police that he thought McCanns order was suspicious, and called the prescribing doctor. The doctor said that McCann was not his patient, police say.
When a Fairfield police officer arrived to interview McCann, he began clutching his chest, saying he was having a panic attack. After being checked by paramedics he declined a ride to the hospital, according to the police report.
McCann was charged with two counts of second-degree forgery and illegally obtaining prescription drugs. He was released on $1,000 bond and is due in court May 30.
