The watch is in effect from noon to 6 p.m.

The forecast calls for winds of 15 to 20 mph with gusts of up to 30 mph and humidity as low as 30 percent, leading the National Weather Service to issue the Red Flag Warning. High temperatures will be a more mild 65 degrees under partly sunny skies.

Outdoor fires ignited during such dry weather conditions could spread rapidly.

Critical fire weather conditions are expected for the day, the National Weather Service said, with a combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels. This creates a significantly elevated fire growth potential.
