FAIRFIELD, Conn. A brawl erupted between supporters of a visiting team after Pop Warner football games Saturday at Fairfields Sullivan Field. Police have made no arrests, but investigators expect to charge the aggressors in the fight this week.
Witnesses gave police the following account. After a victory by a team from Hamden over a team from Stratford, the coachs wife from the winning team set up to take a team photo. The photographer asked another fan to move, but the woman responded, Ill move when Im ready.
After the photo, the Hamden coach and the other woman began a verbal argument, while the coachs wife watched. The other womans daughter then asked, What are you looking at? and jumped at her. The mother also joined in the fight. The victim suffered bruises and scratches to the face before witnesses separated the women. Police plan to make arrests later this week.

? A 15-year-old girl was home alone during a burglary at her Old Spring Road home Friday afternoon. Nothing was missing from the house after the incident, and the girl was not discovered by the suspect or harmed.
The girl told police that she was on the homes back porch when the doorbell rang twice. She did not answer, but heard the unlocked front door open and the family dog begin to bark. The resident went around to the front of the house and saw an unfamiliar vehicle an aqua-green, older-model station wagon.
The girl then hid in the basement and called her father. When he arrived home, the burglar was gone. Nothing was missing but there were signs that a jewelry box had been searched.
A second burglary occurred in the same area that day. A Smedley Road resident told police that her home was broken into sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Friday. The owner arrived home to find a jewelry box emptied and various items missing. The suspects entered the home through a window that was fitted with an air conditioner, which was on the floor when the homeowner returned.
A neighbor saw a suspicious person in the neighborhood at the time, but did not report the man to police until after hearing about the burglary. The woman saw a white male in his 50s with disheveled facial hair walking from the homes back yard. Anyone with information on these incidents should call the Fairfield Police at 203-254-4840.
CORRECTION: This story originally reported that two of the women involved in the fight were from Stratford. All parties involved were supporters of the Hamden team.
