Fairfield's Reps Want Your View on State Budget

Upset that your state income taxes might rise next year? Don’t want to pay sales tax for haircuts and yoga classes? Think the state should spend more money on education? You’ll get your chance Saturday afternoon to take your ideas straight to the people who make the decisions — Fairfield’s General Assembly members. State Sen. John McKinney (R-28) and State Reps. Brenda Kupchick (R-132), Kim Fawcett (D-133) and Tony Hwang (R-134) will hold a town hall meeting in Fairfield to talk about upcoming budget debates in the statehouse.

The meeting is open to all Fairfielders who wish to attend. The four legislators will be at the Board of Education Conference Room, 501 Kings Highway East, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 12. For those who can’t attend, there will be a second Town Hall meeting on Thursday, March 24, at Fairfield Ludlowe High School from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

What questions do you have about the state budget? Post them in the comments below, and we’ll pass them along to your representatives.
