Fairfield's Lake Mohegan Closed To Swimmers Tuesday

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield’s Lake Mohegan is closed to swimmers Tuesday, June 4 because of Monday’s heavy rains.

The Fairfield Health Department periodically closes town-run swimming areas after heavy rainstorms, because storm runoff potentially leads to increased levels of bacteria. Monday’s rainfall was high enough to trigger a closure at Lake Mohegan, but not at the shoreline beaches.

Lake Mohegan is expected to reopen for swimmers Wednesday. Closure information is posted on the Fairfield Beach Updates blog.
