Fairfield's Democrats Seek Local Candidates

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Do you think you can run the town better than the people who are in charge now? Well, here’s your chance to try. Elections for Fairfield’s town government take place in November. And the town Democratic Party has put out an open call for Democrats interested in joining interim First Selectman Michael Tetreau on the party's ticket.

The November elections will decide the town’s executive leaders — the first selectman and two other members of the Board of Selectmen. All 50 spots on the Representative Town Meeting, Fairfield’s legislature, are up for re-election as well. There are also spots on the Board of Finance, the Town Plan and Zoning Commission, the Board of Education and other town bodies.

The town’s Democrats will gather in an open meeting July 21 at the Board of Education’s conference room at 501 Kings Highway E. to name its candidates for November’s elections. Anyone interested in running for elected office can contact Democratic Town Committee chair Ellery Plotkin at 203-521-7489 or vice chair Robert Greenberger at 203-292-5185 or send an email to fairfielddtc@gmail.com before the meeting to throw their hat in the ring.
