Fairfield's Cornell Road Reopens After Bridge Work

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Cornell Road in Fairfield is now open to through traffic after a seven-month closure, Fairfield Police said Tuesday.

The road had been closed since October while the Department of Public Works replaced a bridge on the street. The construction was originally scheduled to finish in December or January, but because of weather-related delays, crews were not able to finish the work until spring.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the road is complete and clear to through traffic, the Fairfield Police and the town both said via Facebook.
