Canada, president of the Harlem Children’s Zone, is known for his pioneering work helping children and families in Harlem.
“Geoffrey Canada knows first-hand the importance of our mission, and we could not be more excited to have him as our keynote speaker this year,” says Debra Greenwood, CEO/president of The Center.
“He understands the importance a child’s environment has on development and is well versed on domestic violence and its effects on a child’s ability to progress in school due to trauma," Greenwood says.
“Speaking of Women is our most important and largest event of the year, the one on which we rely (upon) to provide us with the needed funds to help those shattered by domestic violence and sexual assault,” Greenwood adds. “We encourage everyone to attend.”
The Waterview is located at 215 Roosevelt Drive.
Tickets can be purchased at www.centerforfamilyjustice.org, by contacting Marissa Donnelly at 203-334-6154 ext. 21 or by emailing mdonnelly@centerforfamilyjustice.org.
