FAIRFIELD, Conn. A 17-year-old Fairfield boy was charged with attacking his girlfriend near Riverfield School Sunday night. The teen was accused of punching and choking the girl during an altercation, police say.
A resident on Mill Plain Road called police to report that a girl was heard screaming, You almost killed me, according to police reports. Officers arrived at the Riverfield parking lot and found the suspect, who explained that he had been arguing with his girlfriend.
Police tracked down the girl and interviewed her at her home. She told police that during the fight he shoved her in the shoulder and placed his hand over her mouth to prevent her from screaming. He then punched her in the eye, causing her to lose consciousness temporarily, according to the police report. When she tried to get to her car, he allegedly put his hand around her neck and again covered her mouth, police say.
The 17-year-old was charged with second-degree assault, unlawful restraint, second-degree strangulation and breach of the peace. He was released on a $5,000 bond and was due in juvenile court Monday.
