Residents interested in receiving the service should have their bags at the curb each Monday by 6 a.m. to ensure that they make the week’s rounds. Leaves should be in unsealed, biodegradable paper bags in the town right-of way.
The town’s trucks will make trips through most neighborhoods between Nov. 12 and Dec. 14. Greenfield Hill residents need to call the town garage at 203-256-3177 to schedule pick-ups. People in those areas can call for one pick-up before Thanksgiving and one after the holiday.
Crews will also continue to collect brush and woody debris left from Hurricane Sandy for the next two weeks. Large branches and other storm-related debris do not need to be in bags to be collected, but they do need to be within the town’s right-of-way on the side of the road.
