Fairfield Sets Up Public Meeting On Merritt Parkway Resurfacing

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Connecticut Department of Transportation will hold public information meetings for proposed projects affecting both Fairfield and Westport that involve resurfacing, safety improvements, enhancements and bridge improvements on the Merritt Parkway (Route 15).

The first meeting will be held in Westport on Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m. at the Westport Town Hall Auditorium, 110 Myrtle Ave. A second meeting will take place in Fairfield on Thursday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. at North Stratfield Elementary School, 190 Putting Green Road, which is off of Stratfield Road, Route 59.

If Fairfield residents cannot attend the meeting in Fairfield, they may attend the meeting in Westport since the same information will be presented.

In the event either meeting is cancelled due to inclement weather they will be rescheduled to Thursday, Jan. 28, in Westport, and to Wednesday, Feb. 10 in Fairfield, same time and location.

ConnDOT personnel and Fairfield officials will be available during the Fairfield meeting to discuss these projects and will have plans of the proposed projects on display for public review at the meetings. 

More detailed information is available at the Department’s Office of Engineering, 2800 Berlin Turnpike, Newington. 

A map of the proposed projects is also available for review at the Engineering Department in Fairfield’s Independence Hall, 725 Old Post Road, and at the Westport Town Hall.
