The man was described as well dressed, with gray hair, around 6 feet tall and in his 60s. He reportedly got out of a newer model black Mercedes.
The first report was about an incident on July 10 at the corner of Redding Road and Merwins Lane at 7:30 a.m., where a mother was helping her 5-year-old special-needs daughter to buckle her seat belt on the bus. According to the report, the man got out of his car and yelled at both the mother and the bus driver.
The mother told police that she attempted to explain the situation to the man, but in response he reportedly told her that she had to be earlier in the future or "this is going to be a problem." She took this as a threat and has not used the bus since the incident occurred, police said.
A second report came in to the police regarding a June incident happened at approximately 3 p.m. in the area of Congress Street and Jone Drive. Police report that a similar incident occurred when a mother was helping her special needs child on the bus.
The mother told police that a man fitting the same description got out of his car and physically blocked her way and then later passed several cars to catch up to her as she fled in her own car in fear of him.
"We believe that he lives in either the upper Merwins Lane or north of that area and frequently travels on Redding Road and Congress Street," said Police Lt. Sue Lussier said. "We think this guys actions warrant us identifying him"
It's possible that the man in question does not live in Fairfield but in one of the surrounding towns.
