Fairfield Man Charged With Waving Knife at Traffic

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A Fairfield man was charged with a breach of the peace Tuesday afternoon. Han Sol Lee, 22, of Grasmere Avenue was seen on Post Road, waving a kitchen knife, police say.

Passing drivers called to complain that a man was in the street near Grasmere Avenue. The suspect had a butcher knife in his hand, according to police reports. He was waving the blade at passing cars, and scraping it on the ground.

Officers found Lee on Grasmere Avenue, carrying a knife in his hand. He told police he was “just playing around,” and apologized, according to police reports. Lee’s mother told police that he might have a mental disability.

Lee was charged with a breach of the peace and released on a promise to appear in court May 1. He was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
