Fairfield Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Teen

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A Fairfield man was arrested Monday following accusations that he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl. Police said Eduardo Rivera, 46, of Warren Avenue had inappropriate contact with the girl over a period of six or seven years.

An investigation was begun in April based on a report from the Department of Children and Families. Fairfield Police Youth Bureau detectives, social workers, forensic investigators and a nurse worked on the case for the past four months before deciding to arrest Rivera. Police would not release more details in order to protect the identity of the victim.

Rivera was charged with first-, second- and fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. He was held on a $200,000 bond and will face charges in court Aug. 29.
