Fairfield was founded in 1639, and will celebrate the 375th anniversary of that event throughout 2014. First Selectman Michael Tetreau’s staff is now in the “early stages” of planning the celebration.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the many wonderful aspects of our town,” Tetreau said in a press release. “I am certain this year-long commemoration will be a wonderful occasion for everyone.”

Businesses and organizations are needed to help plan and host events and exhibits based on significant events in Fairfield’s history or looking forward to Fairfield’s future.

Tetreau asks that those interested apply via e-mail to fairfield375@gmail.com by May 1, 2013. The email should include: The name of your organization or business, the contact person with a phone number and email address and a short list of ideas on how you’d like to participate.
