Fairfield Honored With Silver Award As A Clean Energy Community

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – More than 145 Connecticut municipalities were honored for their participation in the Clean Energy Communities program, an Energize Connecticut initiative that provides incentives for cities and towns to support energy efficiency and renewable energy.

Among the honorees was the Town of Fairfield, which was celebrated as a silver recipient.

The ceremony was highlighted by keynote speaker Lynne Hamjian, deputy director of the office of ecosystem protection for the Environmental Protection Agency New England.

Connecticut Energy and Environmental Protection Commissioner Robert Klee, David McHale from Eversource, Patrick McDonnell from United Illuminating Co. and Bryan Garcia from the Connecticut Green Bank were also on hand to congratulate the participants.
