FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Heavy snow fell overnight in Fairfield County, but predictions that the area could see up to 2 feet of snow have been significantly downgraded.
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until midnight Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
The storm has begun to exit the area with snow totals adjusted to about 8 to 10 inches and up to 14 inches for most of the area, with higher amounts to the east. Boston is expected to get the brunt of the storm, with up to 2 feet predicted to fall there.
Here are a few reported early accumulation totals, even as snow continued to fall Tuesday morning:
- Darien: 5.8 inches at 3 a.m.
- Norwalk: 5 inches at 2 a.m.
- Bridgeport: 3.5 inches at midnight
- Danbury: 3 inches at 3 a.m.
