A Fairfield man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly abusing his 17-year-old daughter. Christopher Burr, 42, was charged with disorderly conduct, threatening, risk of injury to a minor and reckless endangerment.
Fairfield police received reports from the Department of Children and Families that Burr had been abusing and neglecting his daughter. Police would not release any details because the case involves a minor. But after an investigation, the girl was placed in protective custody March 15, and the next day police arrested Burr.
Burr was held on $50,000 cash-only bond Wednesday and taken to Bridgeport Superior Court on Thursday for his initial hearing.

Fairfield Police believe a father-and-son shoplifting team was behind an incident at BJs Wholesale Club on Black Rock Turnpike last fall. On Oct. 24, store security called police to report that a pair of black males, about age 25 and 6 feet tall, stole packages of razors, then got into a gray Nissan Altima and drove away.
Recently, BJs security at the North Haven store found that a team of West Haven men, including Harry Banks Sr., Harry Banks Jr. and a third man, allegedly committed a series of thefts at that store. Fairfield police interviewed the Bankses and believe they performed the theft in Fairfields store as well.
The elder Banks, 57, was arrested on a warrant on a charge of conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny Thursday afternoon. He was held on $1,000 bond. A warrant was still pending on his son, and police have not been able to locate the third suspect.
