A Fairfield teen was robbed at gunpoint, then dragged from a car as he attempted to catch the thief, according to a report he gave police Monday. The 15-year-old boy said he was walking along Miro Street around 3 p.m. when he was approached by a black male teenager who asked to borrow his cell phone. When the boy agreed, the suspect took the phone and ran.
The victim chased after the thief and caught up to him and they both fell to the ground. The attacker said, Dont make me shoot you and reached into his pocket, indicating he had a gun. The suspect ran away again, but the victim caught him as he attempted to get in a silver four-door sedan.
The car sped away, dragging both teens a few feet on the ground. The Fairfield teen suffered abrasions on his face, back, neck, knees and shoulder, but refused medical treatment. He was able to retrieve his phone, but the robber ran away on foot. The assailant was wearing a red sweatshirt and dark pants. Anyone with information should contact the Fairfield Police at (203) 254-4800.
