The town reminded residents to contact their private trash haulers about the specifics of tree pickup in a message on the town's Facebook page. Trees must be left out separately and cannot be mixed with regular household trash.

If you do not have at-home pickup, you can bring a tree to the town’s solid waste and recycling center on Richard White Way to have it recycled for free. The recycling center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays, as well as Jan. 5 and 12, to take trees.

Trees should be left at the side of the road, but not blocking traffic. No plastic wrapping or ornaments should be on the tree. The town asks residents cut any trees longer than 7 feet.
