It appears Kenneth Flattos time as first selectman in Fairfield will be coming to an end. Gov. Dannel Malloy announced Tuesday that he is appointing Flatto to be executive director of the Division of Special Revenue.
"Ken will bring his 30 years of experience as a financial and accounting manager to this integral position," Malloy said in a statement. "Although we are trying to maximize revenue that comes into the state, we always need to be mindful that it does not come at the expense of our state's citizens."
Flatto has been Fairfields chief executive for the last 10 years. He will now be responsible for the branch of the state government that oversees legalized gambling, including the lottery and Native American casinos. Flatto will speak more about his new role Tuesday afternoon.
