Employee Charged With Theft From Fairfield Store

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A Bridgeport man was charged with theft from his Fairfield employer Monday afternoon. Jhakim Ingram-Garden, 20, used his job at Kohl’s department store to give family and friends steep discounts, police say.

The store’s internal investigators told police that Ingram-Garden switched tags to mark down items, which were then bought by people he knew. He performed seven transactions, costing the company a total of $572, according to police reports.

Ingram-Garden turned himself in at Fairfield Police Headquarters Monday. He was charged with fifth-degree larceny, and released on a promise to appear in court on April 16.

? A car was reported stolen from the Fairfield train station parking lot Monday. The vehicle was parked on the north side of the station’s parking lot, near the Unquowa Road overpass. The owner told police that it was left unlocked, but without keys inside. The car is described as a 1992 black Jeep Wrangler with a tan hard-cover  top.

? An electric generator was reported missing from a Fairfield home early Tuesday morning. The General-brand appliance was left inside a Mill Plain Road garage at 11 p.m. Monday, and discovered missing the next morning. The owner told police that the garage had inadvertently been left open, with the generator in plain view.
