Dense Fog Advisory Issued For Coastal Fairfield

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- As fog enveloped coastal Connecticut late Friday, the National Weather Service issued a Dense Fog Advisory for the overnight until Saturday morning.

The Dense Fog Alert will remain in effect until 9 a.m. Saturday along coastal regions. 

Hazards include dense fog with visibility of a quarter mile or less at times. Travel could be hazardous in some areas and motorists are urged to use caution.   

If driving, slow down, use low beam headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of you in case a sudden stop is needed, the National Weather Service said. 

Once the fog has cleared, Saturday will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 71 degrees.

The fog will return Saturday Night under mostly cloudy skies, with a low around 57.

On Sunday, more fog is expected before 11 a.m. The day will turn more pleasant, with partly sunny skies and a high near 80 degrees to round out the weekend.
