A Huntington man was arrested on the Fairfield-Bridgeport border Wednesday on charges that he was dealing drugs in Fairfield, police said. Richard Decarvalho, 28, of Judson Street, was brought into police headquarters after officers found large amounts of cocaine and marijuana in his car while serving a search and seizure warrant on the vehicle in the parking lot of Vinnys Ale House on the Post Road.
The Fairfield Detective Bureau began investigating Decarvalho after receiving information that he was selling large amounts of cocaine in town. After applying for the search warrant, they stopped him while he was driving in Fairfield and found a significant amount of cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, according to the report. Police also searched his home in Huntington and discovered two clear plastic bags, each containing about an ounce of cocaine.
Decarvalho was charged with possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held on $75,000 bond and is due in court June 30.
