Morning Fairfield Fire

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A vehicle fire at a Fairfield used car dealership resulted in severe damage to at least one auto early Tuesday morning. It was stopped by Fairfield firefighters before it could spread to other properties, and no one was injured in the blaze at Pulver Motors Inc. on Kings Highway.

Fairfield Fire Department crews arrived at the scene of the blaze at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. They found a 2003 Ford van engulfed in flames, and the fire encroaching on the dealership’s building. Firefighters put out the fire, but not before it destroyed the van and damaged two nearby cars.

“Fortunately, no one was injured during this fire and the majority of the fire damage was confined to the outside of the building, saving the owners business and personal belongings,” said Assistant Chief Scott Bisson. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
