A Wii video game system valued at $250 and a camera valued at $120 were reported stolen from a Fairfield home on Melville Drive on Monday, police said. The homeowner told police that she heard noises near the home's rear door at around 4:30 a.m., as if someone was attempting to break-in, but did not call police or leave her bedroom. The noises stopped. The homeowner left the house around 9 a.m. and returned at noon to find a window that she had left open was closed. Two small cuts had been made on the screen near a sliding lock. The video game system and camera had been stolen from the living room, police said.

A $540 bicycle was reported stolen from a home's garage on Oyster Road in Fairfield at about 1:45 p.m. on Monday. A less valuable mountain bike was left in its place, police said.
