Its not as hot today as it has been, but Fairfield parents looking for a place to escape the sun and find something fun to do with their family can try the library.
The Fairfield Public Library and Children's Librarian Barbara Hawkins are offering free showing of "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" Wednesday at 3 as part of its "Beat the Heat Family Movie" program.
There is no registration for the PG rated movie, and the room is air-conditioned. Cold lemonade and snacks will be provided, and those who attend are encouraged to bring a beach towel.
The library will raffle off a Sunny Dae's Ice Cream gift certificate after the movie.
There will be more opportunities to beat the heat and catch a flick. "The Princess and the Frog" will be shown July 7, "Alvin and the Chipmunks The Squekquel" July 14 and "The Tooth Fairy" July 21.
