State Rep. Kim Fawcett, Selectman Sherri Steeneck and RTM members Chris DeSanctis, Carolyn Richmond, David Becker and Jamie Millington, along with business people and other community leaders, started their morning at the Burr Homestead on December 1, stopping by to kick off this year's Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival. The historic building, done up with decorated trees, wreaths and quilts, is once again putting on a seasonal show for charity.This years Festival benefits Bridgeport's Burroughs Community Center.
Starting Friday, Dec. 3, The Homestead will open to the public, showing off its designer-decorated rooms, custom-made live wreaths, ornamental trees and wreaths for sale, and holiday boutique. Also on tap are live music, photos with Santa and a quilt raffle. More than 3,000 people are expected to visit. Hours for the Festival are:Friday, December 3, 10 a.m-.7 p.m., Saturday, December 4, 10 a.m-5 p.m. and Sunday, December 5, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. For more information, visit the Festival's website.
