FAIRFIELD, Conn. Marjorie "Violet" Lundberg of Fairfield died May 3. She was 93.
Lundberg was born July 31, 1918 in Callao, Peru, to Herbert Johnson and Josephine Savage Johnson. She became a nurse and met Einar Lundberg while working at a mining hospital in La Oroya, Peru, in 1948. They were married in 1950 and she became a homemaker.
Lundberg and her husband raised three children in Peru before moving to Proctor, Vt. in 1963 and settling in Fairfield in 1968. She had a talent for sewing, knitting and crocheting and made much of her own clothing.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda (Richard) Rose, of Reno, Nev.; a son, Robert Lundberg, of Shelton; six grandchildren; two great-granddaughters and a cousin, Fred (Gloria) Savage, with whom she grew up. Lundberg was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Einar Lundberg; a son, Chris Lundberg; a brother, Arthur; two sisters, Ruth and Blanche and a daughter-in-law, Mary Jean Lundberg.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Fairfield Grace United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. Friends may greet the family from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home in Fairfield Center.
