Tour A Piece of Fairfield History

Anyone who attended school in Fairfield took at least one field trip to the Ogden House, the Colonial-era museum preserved by the Fairfield Historical Society. But when was the last time you visited it? The historical society is inviting Fairfielders to take a trip down memory lane Friday with its "Candlelight at Odgen House" event.

Built before 1750, the traditional home housed the Odgen family for more than 125 years. It was one of the few homes in Fairfield to survive British attacks during the American Revolution. In the early 20th century, the family donated the house to the historical society, which restored it and now operates it as a museum.

"Candlelight at Ogden House" is from 5 to 7 p.m. at 1520 Bronson Road. It features docent-led tours of the home, teaching visitors about the Colonial-era holiday experience. Light refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the public.
