Shadow Needs a Home in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Say hello to Shadow. The 8-year-old Labrador mix is the latest edition of Wednesday’s Pet, the Fairfield Board of Selectmen’s program to encourage adoption at the Fairfield Animal Shelter. Shadow’s former owner brought her to the One Rod Highway shelter recently because she could no longer care for her, and now she’s one of the many pets there looking for a home.

“She loves people,” said Animal Control Officer Bill McDonagh. “But she doesn’t like other dogs.”

So far, all of the dogs and cats chosen to be Wednesday’s Pet have been adopted. But there are more coming to the shelter every day. You can see more of the Fairfield Animal Shelter’s guests at Petfinder.

You can adopt Shadow or any other spayed or neutered pet for just $5, or pick up one who isn’t spayed or neutered for $50. For more information, call Animal Control at (203) 254-4857 or visit the shelter at 211 One Rod Highway.
