The film’s directors, Chris Temple and Zach Ingrasci, were the first filmmakers allowed by the United Nations to register and set up a tent inside a refugee camp; they lived among 80,000 uprooted refugees in Jordan's Za'atari refugee camp, giving the audience firsthand perspective on the world’s most pressing crisis..
The film has helped shed light on organizations that contribute to the well-being of these child refugees and their families, and will include a post-screening panel discussion with representatives from local nonprofits helping refugees, including Fairfield-based Save the Children and Bridgeport’s International Institute of Connecticut (IICONN).
The discussion will focus on the most urgent needs of child refugees and their families in the Middle East, as well as highlight how these local organizations support healing and ease the burden on refugee host countries.
