Sassy Needs a Home in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Say hello to Sassy. She’s nearly 6 months old, and she’s waiting right now for a loving family at the Fairfield Animal Shelter.

Sassy is this week’s Wednesday’s Pet, a program started by Selectman Sherri Steeneck. At each of their biweekly meetings the Board of Selectmen introduce a dog or a cat from the shelter to draw attention to the dozens waiting for homes. So far, all pets featured have gone to new owners.

“I just brought one home for my mother last week, ” Steeneck said. “My mother’s loving her, and she’s loving my mother. I think for everybody who might consider having one, it’ll make your disposition a lot better.”

If you’d like to adopt Sassy, or any of the other pets in the town’s care, you can stop by the shelter at 211 One Rod Highway. Adopting Sassy will cost $50, and you’ll receive a voucher to have her spayed. (Already spayed or neutered pets cost $5.) You can also see the full roster of pets available at Petfinder
