The march ended at the Great Lawn of the Pequot Library, which hosts the event each Independence Day. Once there the kids were greeted by games, face-painting, arts and crafts and food from the Super Duper Weenie truck.
The centerpiece of the party on the Great Lawn was the annual Revolutionary Relay. Teams of kids raced across the grass dressed as George and Martha Washington, Betsy Ross, Paul Revere and even King George III for those who felt like playing the villain.
Kids from around the area decked out their bikes, scooters and buggies in red, white and blue to celebrate Independence Day. Before stepping off the kids remembered the reason for the holiday, wishing Happy Birthday, America.
