Say hello to Ouch. She is a 10-week-old kitten, and currently lives at the Fairfield Animal Shelter. And shes this weeks Wednesdays Pet, introduced before the Board of Selectman meeting to raise awareness for the dozens of dogs and cats at the kennel waiting for a home.
Ouch also has two brothers from the same litter, also at the shelter and looking for a home. You can take home either of them for just $50, which includes a voucher for neutering and two shots. Or you can check out Fairfield Animal Controls full roster of pets up for adoption at Petfinder. If you find a pet you like thats already been neutered, the cost to take it home is just $5.
Selectman Sherri Steeneck introduced Wednesdays Pet in May to draw attention to pets needing a home in the Fairfield Animal Shelter. Since then, the program has introduced Odi, an 8-month-old puppy, and Missy, another dog who found a home last week. Animal Control is just about full of dogs and cats, Steeneck said Wednesday.
If you'd like to adopt Ouch or any other pet, contact the Fairfield Animal Shelter at (203) 254-4857 or visit the shelter at 211 One Rod Highway.
