Oreo Needs a Home in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Say hello to Oreo. She’s just one of the many pets awaiting adoption at the Fairfield Animal Shelter.

“She’s very gentle,” said former Selectman Sherri Steeneck, who presented Oreo as “Wednesday’s Pet” before the Fairfield Board of Selectmen.

Steeneck started Wednesday’s Pet last year to draw attention to the many dogs and cats waiting for adoption at the Fairfield Animal Shelter. Last month’s featured pet, Scruffy, has already found a home, meaning that every animal featured as Wednesday’s Pet has been adopted.

If you’re interested in taking Oreo home, you can visit her at the Fairfield Animal Shelter, 211 One Rod Highway, or call 203-254-4857. She will cost $50 to adopt, which includes a voucher to have her spayed. Her friends at the shelter who already are spayed or neutered cost $5 to take home.
