Missing Scruffy Found Safe Near Fairfield's Roger Ludlowe Middle School

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Scruffy, a rescue dog who went missing Saturday at the northbound rest area on I-95 in Fairfield, was found safe and returned to his family.

Scruffy, who is new to his family, was seen running down the embankment toward Round Hill Road in Fairfield on Saturday.

The family received a tip that Scruffy had been spotted Saturday night near the Moss Wood Condo Complex and came across his tracks in the snow.

A few hours later, the family received a call from Animal Control that Scruffy had been found by a young girl at Roger Ludlowe Middle School, where they had just finished searching.

Scruffy went home his new family on Sunday.
