FAIRFIELD, Conn. The following letter is from Jennifer Hochberg, a Fairfield Representative Town Meeting member from District 7.
e.e. cummings once said, It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.
I never thought that running for public office would be in the deck of cards that is my life. With the desire to run for a spot on the Representative Town Meeting in my thoughts for the last few years, and having been appointed to fill a vacancy in District 7 earlier this year, I took that opportunity to run for a full two-year term in my own right.
This journey wasnt easy, but well worth all the hard work and bumps along the way. It is amazing to campaign and win a seat in the district that I lived all my life in!
Thank you to everyone for their support, love and friendship; the Fairfield Democratic Town Committee, my fellow candidates, neighbors, former classmates, so many friends and acquaintances (too many you know who you are!), and my family, who has always instilled in me that what you have earned, no one can take it away from you.
The hard work finally begins, and I look forward to working with my fellow RTM members on both sides of the aisle to help make a difference and hopefully effect change here in Fairfield.
