To the Editor:
Since Kevin Coyner announced his interest in running for the 132nd District in January, I have gotten to know him personally, and feel he is the best choice for Fairfield in the Aug. 14 Democratic Primary.
What particularly impresses me about this outstanding candidate is his ability to express himself, his willingness to listen to others and his sense of purpose. He is well-organized, energetic and personable.
Moreover, Kevin Coyner has the necessary breadth and depth of experience and background to be an excellent legislator. With a BA in economics and an MBA in international business, he has worked and lived in a number of countries throughout the world. While serving as a legislative assistant in the U.S. Senate, he drafted legislation and followed it through the process of making it law.
Kevin, who left the corporate world to enter the field of public service, is currently a firefighter in Greenwich, where he had previously served on the Representative Town Meeting. He knows and understands the demographic diversity of Fairfield County and is well aware of our socioeconomic needs.
Kevin's main priorities are stimulating job growth, creating a fair tax code, providing affordable healthcare, managing government better and assuring education opportunities for all. I share in these concerns.
For all of these reasons I feel that Kevin Coyner is the best choice for Fairfield to serve in our State Legislature. I urge all Democrats to join me in voting for Kevin Coyner on Aug. 14. It will be one of the best decisions you ever made!
