FAIRFIELD, Conn. Karen Novick Maru, 64, of Fairfield, died April 17.
Born in Bryn Mawr, Pa., she was a longtime resident of Fairfield. Maru was a retired marketing professor from the University of Connecticut at Stamford. She was an avid quilter and fiber artist. Many of her works have been exhibited in local museums.
Maru is survived by her husband, Joseph C. File; two sons, Michael File, of Jamaica Plains, Mass., and Charles File, of New Brunswick, N.J.; two brothers, Peter Novick, of South Newfane, Vt., and Garr Novick, of Cherry Hill, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.
All services will be private and have been handled by the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home in Fairfield Center.
