Theres no doubt about it: Spring is on its way. Temperatures cleared 60 degrees Thursday afternoon in Fairfield, and clouds were a rare sight. To take advantage of the fantastic weather, 7-year-old Emma Carvone only had to convince her grandfather Kurt Danjczek to take her and her sister Ali to Owen Fish Park.
She said, We got to go to the park today, Kurt said. So we stopped to get some ice cream, and came right over.
The girls were not alone. The Stratfield Road playground was filled with families enjoying the weather, including the Scatenatos (Anthony, Molly and Kate), the Glads (Kara, Andrew and Kate) and the McMahons (Michelle, Evan and Kate). The three families all had something in common (besides the name of their daughters) all three moved to Fairfield in the last year. We like [Fairfield], Andrew said. The people are nice.
Fairfields parks will no doubt be packed tomorrow afternoon as well. Forecasts say the temperature will remain in the mid-60s, and aside from a few showers Saturday morning, Fairfield can expect sunny skies through the official first day of spring on Sunday.
