Harry Ruderman, 90, Decorated Fairfield Veteran

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Harry Ruderman, 90, of Fairfield, died April 21 at the Jewish Home for the Elderly in Fairfield.  

He was born in Bridgeport, a son of the late Joseph and Dora Ruderman. A U.S. Army veteran, Ruderman served during World War II in June 1944 at Utah Beach and at the Battle of St. Lo. He was the recipient of a Bronze Star, Victory Medal, Combat Infantry Badge for 45 days of straight battle, and a Good Conduct Medal. 

Ruderman is survived by two sons, Michael E. Ruderman and wife Deborah and Charles D. Ruderman and wife Lisa; a daughter, Jamie Marinaccio and husband Ralph; and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Bernice Ruderman, in 2006; and three brothers, Sol, Julius and Sidney. 

Services were held Monday at Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home in Fairfield, with burial at Loyalty Cemetery.
